About TVmomma:

I created this blog a few years back when I used to watch television 14 hours a day. I was getting highly-opinionated with what I see on TV and I wanted to spare my husband from my rantings so I thought of blogging about them instead.

I have called TV as my amusement park -- right in my own home. But now, things have changed and my TV viewing has been limited. I still post on this blog but only when I felt so strongly about what I've seen, and when I have the time.

For reprint and for anything else, please leave a message on the comment area. Thank you.

Ads

Watching football last Sunday, my attention was caught by this announcement:

"The Visa Halftime Report is brought to you by Visa."

Duh, would Mastercard sponsor a Visa Haltime Report or Visa sponsor a Mastercard Halftime Report?

But as I thought of it, maybe Visa wants its name to be mentioned twice so the redundancy is kind of intended.

By the way, I was impressed with Visa coming up with "Life takes Visa" slogan. It was indeed a good response to Mastercard's "There are many things money can't buy; for everything else, there's Mastercard." For a year or so, Mastercard had this ad while Visa had nothing to advertise on this line. Then comes the life takes visa ad on tv. It was good.

I'm sure Visa paid tons of money for the team of advertising people who wittily came up with something as smart as Mastercard's mantra.
