I just watched the last episode of The Big C over Showtime on on-demand channel. It drove me to tears. I remembered crying in the previous episodes but the final one was really moving.
I can relate so much to the main character, Cathy, although I have no cancer. I had been gravely ill before, painfully sick and bedridden for weeks that I thought I was going to die. But I did not. Here I am fully recovered and healed and everyday just seems to be a celebration of life. When Cathy said she wanted to win (to live), I wanted that, too. In this life, I want to win something--before I go--and if that meant working hard to get the prize, then, by all mean, I'm all for it.
The biggest turning point to any person is facing death. It makes you value life so much more. It gives you strength to tackle on the great challenges in life. It makes you able to move mountains. The question is, if I have to die tonight, what would I do at this very hour, at this very minute?
And yes, I want to put on a good fight. I will go trying to make my life better, leaving a legacy to my kids, not wasting on the life that was given me. If I have to face God, I would like to be able to tell Him that I have lived my life in the worthiest sense. And that He did not give me this life in vain.
About TVmomma:
I created this blog a few years back when I used to watch television 14 hours a day. I was getting highly-opinionated with what I see on TV and I wanted to spare my husband from my rantings so I thought of blogging about them instead.
I have called TV as my amusement park -- right in my own home. But now, things have changed and my TV viewing has been limited. I still post on this blog but only when I felt so strongly about what I've seen, and when I have the time.
For reprint and for anything else, please leave a message on the comment area. Thank you.
